Nominees for this year’s Best Of awards have been announced, with contenders in six categories vying for the honours. Hosted by Cars.com, the annual awards show will reveal the winners on January 10 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
In addition to best new car and pickup truck of the year, categories recognize vehicles aimed at families, luxury shoppers and fuel-conscious drivers.
All vehicles are 2017 models, with cars judged on quality, innovation and value, and pickup trucks judged on power capability and value. Nominees for the “Best of 2017” category must be all-new or fully redesigned.
This year’s nominees include:
— Best of 2017: Chrysler Pacifica, Kia Sportage, Genesis G90, Chevrolet Bolt EV, Fiat 124 Spider, GMC Acadia.
— Best Pickup Truck of 2017: Ford Super Duty, Ford F-150 Raptor, Nissan Titan, Honda Ridgeline, Ram 2500 Power Wagon, Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro.
— Eco-Friendly Car of the Year: Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, Honda Fit, Toyota Prius.
— Family Car of the Year: Nissan Rogue, Honda Odyssey, Subaru Outback.
— Luxury Car of the Year: Audi A7, BMW 7 Series, BMW X1.
— Play Car of the Year: Land Rover Range Rover, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Volkswagen Golf GTI.
