Quorum’s first annual conference a success

SONY DSCRecently, Canadian auto dealer attended Quorum Dealer Management Systems’ inaugural management customer conference, held in Toronto. On November 27-28, dealers from across Canada and also parts of the U.S. descended upon the Crowne Plaza hotel in Etobicoke, near Pearson Airport to take part in workshops and listen to keynote speakers.

According to Maury Marks, Quorum’s president and CEO, the idea behind the conference was not only to provide dealer customers with relevant workshops to help them get the most out of its XSELLERATOR DMS but also to better connect with them and receive feedback to enable further improvements.

The conference featured an opening address from Marks and no fewer than 12 workshops, divided into six sessions on each of the two days. These included a 50 best practices workshop put on by DealerSocket that aimed to guide dealers in how to really maximize XSELLERATOR’s abilities and also a session on managing the Paperless Office by Scan123. Other workshops included programs on developing world class vehicle inspection processes by MPI, customer loyalty by Carfolks.com, network security by Nuspire, warranty processes by Warranty AR, as well as further sessions on support and training, service reports, Business Development Centres, purchase orders and console reports.

In an effort to help dealers understand more about the system and to unlock its potential, as well as communicating their experience to fellow dealers, Quorum put on a discussion panel at the event in which three different dealers talked about XSELLERATOR and their observations from using it.

At the conference, Canadian auto dealer managed to talk with Mark Allen, Quorum’s vice president of sales marketing and service. He said that dealers who have adopted XSELLERATOR really love the product but the hard part is sometimes getting them to use some of the tools and technology available to them, especially as upgrades are added. “Those that learn how to use the system have told us that they really like it,” he said, however he noted that with continuous improvements in technology and tools, it can sometimes be a challenge to ensure existing customers are aware of them. “When you’re focusing on acquiring new business, sometimes it can be hard to reach out to existing customers, especially if they are already happy with what they’ve got.” He said Quorum is making a big push to ensure existing customers are able to take advantage of the latest upgrades available to help drive their business growth and that conferences like this are a key part of that process.

Following the event, which drew favourable comments from those who attended, Maury Marks said that “we feel that our first conference [in Toronto] was a resounding success. He also said that as a result, Quorum is in the process of planning more of them. “In fact,” declared Marks, “we are already looking at potentially holding one in the west in the Spring of 2013.” As they say, onward and upward.
