Tire distributor Unimax to acquire RSSW division of Quebec’s Macpek

Unimax, a national distribution for the passenger car and light truck tire sector, has concluded a first agreement to acquire the RSSW division of Macpek, a large and independent heavy vehicle parts distributor in Quebec.

The move is meant to strengthen Unimax’s position in the market, and is expected to be finalized at the end of April. The RSSW division was founded in 1991 and is known for its comprehensive inventory of alloy and steel wheels. The company, which has distribution centres in the East and West parts, is also recognized for its precision in wheel applications.

“This acquisition supports our vision of being a leader in Canada in tire distribution by adding this relevant offering of complementary products for our customers,” said Jean Novak, President and CEO of Unimax, in a statement. Moreover, the RSSW team shares values so close to ours that it will be very easy to collaborate, work as a team, and prioritize the satisfaction of our clients and employees from coast to coast.”

Jean-François Pouliot, Chairman of the Board of Macpek, also chimed in. In a statement, he said he and his brother Claude-André Pouliot are “very pleased to ensure the sustainability, development, and future growth of RSSW.” Its operations will continue to operate autonomously.
