EBlock puts Montreal auctions on national platform

Quebec dealers now have a wider audience for their wholesale inventory, following EBlock’s decision to connect its Montreal auction facility directly to its national marketplace.

EBlock announced on Nov. 3 that its LiveLanes technology is now operating in Montreal, replacing a third-party simulcast system previously used for local auctions. The integration means every vehicle sold through EBlock Montreal’s physical auction lanes will also appear on its digital marketplace, which serves more than 10,000 participants across Canada. LiveLanes combines in-person bidding and online auctions into a single event, allowing buyers to participate remotely while maintaining traditional auction operations.

“Land and logistics still matter for dealers. That’s where cars get inspected, stored and moved. What dealers don’t need is a separate sale for every site,” said Lisa Scott, President of EBlock, in a statement. “With LiveLanes, Montreal runs on the same platform as the rest of our marketplace. That’s what we mean by land meets tech: we keep the ground operations local and put every car in one market while attracting buyers from across Canada.”

The change also consolidates administrative processes, including vehicle titles, payments and disbursements, within one system.

For dealership groups and commercial consignors operating in Quebec, EBlock said the integration could support faster inventory turnover and reduce vehicle movement between locations. Mathieu Boisvert, General Manager of EBlock Montreal, said dealers previously had to navigate separate platforms for local and digital auctions.

Buyers can now participate in Montreal’s live lanes while accessing digital auctions elsewhere in Canada through the same application. The expansion also gives Montreal sellers exposure to buyers across Canada and U.S. exporters, while keeping vehicle inspections and logistics local.
