Sym-Tech Dealer Services has appointed Ian Smith as Chief Operating Officer, according to a post shared by the company on LinkedIn.
The company says Smith brings more than 25 years of executive experience in the automotive, financial services, and global operations industries. In his new role, he will oversee Sym-Tech’s business operations and support the company’s dealer-partner network across Canada.
Based in the Greater Toronto Area, Sym-Tech is a long-time provider of F&I products, training programs, and technology solutions to new-car dealerships nationwide. The company is part of the Amynta Group, a warranty and specialty insurance provider with global operations.
Sym-Tech has expanded its market presence in recent years, including through the acquisition of SSQ Dealer Services’ distribution business from Beneva in 2023, strengthening its footprint in Quebec and reinforcing its position as one of Canada’s largest F&I providers.
Smith’s appointment marks the latest in a series of leadership moves as Sym-Tech continues to focus on operational growth, dealer-service performance, and technology-driven support for its clients.
