Toyota expands Canada Games partnership through 2031

Toyota Canada is strengthening its ties to Canadian amateur sport with a new five-year partnership that will put more than 50 electrified vehicles to work at upcoming Canada Games events.

According to an announcement from Toyota Canada, the automaker will serve as National Mobility Partner through 2031, supporting three editions of the country’s largest amateur multi-sport event. The agreement covers the Quebec City 2027 Canada Winter Games, the Moncton-Saint John 2029 Canada Summer Games and the 2031 Canada Winter Games.

“Along with our dealers across Canada, Toyota Canada is proud to support the Canada Games and their sustainability goals,” said Steve Pilkey, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Toyota Canada, in a statement.

Toyota will supply a fleet of more than 50 vehicles to support operational and Games-time transportation requirements. The partnership will emphasize zero-emission vehicles as part of the Canada Games’ efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its events.

The announcement builds on Toyota’s involvement as Electrified Fleet Partner for the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

“We know our Toyota dealers will be cheering on their local athletes, coaches and families participating in the Games in a demonstration of community connection and regional pride,” said Pilkey.

Kelly-Ann Paul, President and CEO of the Canada Games Council, welcomed the expanded relationship, pointing to Toyota’s previous sponsorship and the opportunity to advance the organization’s sustainability objectives through electrified transportation.

The Canada Games bring together athletes with and without disabilities from across the country, with competitions alternating between winter and summer editions every two years. The partnership will first take effect at the 2027 Canada Winter Games in Quebec City, scheduled for February 27 to March 14.
