An all-electric vehicle dealership in Newfoundland and Labrador has been recognized for its national leadership in the promotion and adoption of EVs in Canada.

The dealership, Green Rock E.V.S., received the Canadian Electric Vehicle Dealership Inspiration Award for the second year in a row from the Canadian Electricity Association.

Green Rock E.V.S. is a founding partner of EVEN Electric, a recently formed Canadian network of EV-only dealerships, which use alternative distribution models to sell EVs.

The group said it is also in discussion or has signed agreements for its customer centres with many countries including Panama, Israel, Australia, the U.S., U.K., Malta, Czech Republic and Sweden, to name a few.

“Our goal is to transform and disrupt conventional vehicle business processes to meet the specific needs of the EV market,” said Mike Elwood, CEO of EVEN Electric, in a written release. “This recognition of Green Rock’s established leadership as the best-in-class EV dealership will help spread the message and help move us all to a cleaner, more electrically powered future.”

In an earlier statement announcing the new venture, Elwood said, “The traditional dealership model has proven unable to deliver the sales and service experience that EV owners want and need. Our EVEN model was developed to combine the best aspects of both an online and in-store retail experience to make it easy for EV customers to find and acquire exactly what they want, when and where they want it.”
