Alex-streetcar-300Alex Tagliani got hooked on racing at the age of 10 after karting with his grandfather in Italy. And he’s never looked back. Today, he competes in the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series, driving the No. 98 Barracuda Racing car. In 2011, he was the pole sitter for the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500. This year, Tagliani is hoping to add another win to his long list of open-wheel racing accomplishments, which include 8 wins and 35 Top 10 finishes. He also races in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, V8 Supercars & the GT Series. When he’s not on the track, he’s swimming, cycling, or inline skating. He met his wife, Bronte, during a race in Australia.

My acura says style, low profile, practical, technical. I love a sporty SUV with all-wheel-drive.

“I think it’s practical for traveling with lots of room for luggage, etc. Also, I think it has really good handling so it’s more like a sport SUV. It has everything I need,” says the 39-year-old driver from Montreal, Que., who has homes in Indiana and Las Vegas.

But does his Acura MDX perform like his race car? “No, and it’s better this way,” he confesses. “My favourite feature on it is the 20-inch black rims,” says Tagliani, who is fluent in English, French, and Italian.
