Canadian auto dealer contributing writer Perry Lefko won the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada 2025 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award Presented by Genesis Motor Canada Thursday night for an article he wrote about women who are either Dealer Principals or Managing Partners.

The story, titled Rise Up, was published in May. It profiled Monika Carmichael (Trent Valley Honda in Peterborough), Alyssa McKeown (Forbes Motors in Kitchener), Tammy Roach (Charlottetown Mitsubishi), Christy Fines (400 Chrysler and Barrie Chrysler) and Nathalie Aumont (Joliette Toyota in Notre-Dame-des-Prairies, Quebec), each of whom represent the small percentage of women owners in a position and an industry dominated by men.

Perry was praised for the in-depth research and interviews in the article.

Perry has been an AJAC member for four years and has been an award winner twice and a runner up once.

He has won multiple journalism awards in his 40-plus year career and is also a multiple bestselling author.

He joined Canadian auto dealer in 2022.
