Earthquake in Japan forces Toyota to pause several assembly lines

An earthquake in Japan has impacted half of Toyota’s vehicle assembly lines in the country (14 of 28 plants), and the ripple effects of the situation could be felt as far as Australia and other countries, according to CarAdvice. “Toyota Australia says it is yet to determine if there will be any further delays to shipments of vehicles after last week’s earthquake in Japan wiped out a number of parts suppliers,” said CarAdvice, adding that the OEM was planning to pause production for several days.
