While the end of the month is often a busy time for car shopping, Edmunds.com says the busiest car buying time of the year is the week between Christmas and New Year’s, dubbed “New Car, New Year.”
During this time period, the car shopping website projects new car sales to be 78 per cent higher than the average week earlier in December, with leasing hitting an all-time high.
“As the dealers look to sell the last of their 2014 model year vehicles, car shoppers will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of cars at affordable prices,” says Philip Reed, Senior Consumer Advice Editor, Edmunds.com, in a press release.
But the company says December is also the one of the most popular months for luxury vehicle shopping, when high-end brands focus their marketing messages on closing out 2014 inventory.
