Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada has received the Gold J.D. Power Plant Quality Award, the company recently announced.
TMMC’s South Plant in Cambridge, Ontario, won the top award in the North and South America Region for building the Lexus RX, as part of the in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Initial Quality Study. The study recognizes the world’s top automotive plants.
“Earning the distinction of the most awarded plant in the world is no small feat — it reflects the relentless quality mindset our team brings to every vehicle, every day,” said Frank Voss, outgoing President of TMMC, in a statement.
J.D. Power’s study includes 2025 model year vehicles bought or leased between March 2024 and February 2025. Buyers own the vehicles for 90 days following their purchase before completing the survey. TMMC said plant awards are based on the lowest number of customer-reported defect/malfunction problems per vehicle.
TMMC said this top award is shared with Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, and is the twelfth award for its South Plant.
As for Voss, the outgoing President of TMMC, he said he couldn’t be prouder of the team. “It has been a real honour to be a part of this team over the past twenty-three years, and leading it for the past five. I know their commitment to excellence will continue to drive even greater success in the years ahead,” said Voss in a statement.
