Groundbreaking ceremonies were recently held for two new Volkswagen dealerships, one in British Columbia and one in Quebec.
On May 27, representatives from OpenRoad Auto Group and Volkswagen Canada participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of OpenRoad Volkswagen on Lougheed Highway near Boundary Road in Burnaby, B.C.

This new dealership will be built to Volkswagen’s White Frame Modular Concept and will cover 43,200 square feet once completed. The new facility will include a 12 vehicle showroom, as well as 22 service bays and provisions to store an inventory of 300 units. OpenRoad Volkswagen is scheduled to open in mid-2015 with a planning volume for 600 unit sales in its first year.
On the other side of the country, in Quebec, a groundbreaking ceremony for another new Volkswagen dealership, Joliette Volkswagen in Notre-Dame-des-Prairies, Que. also took place, in this case on May 23. This new facility will also follow Volkswagen’s latest White Frame Modular Concept image program, and will comprise approximately 17,400 square feet once completed. The new dealership will include a showroom with capacity for 8 vehicles, plus a service area with 10 individual bays and inventory storage for 150 vehicles. Like OpenRoad Volkswagen in Burnaby, B.C., this new store, owned by Francois and Pierre-Alexandre St-Jean, is scheduled to open mid-way through 2015.
