Chrysler announces Dodge Caravan Kids winners

Chrysler-announces-300Chrysler Canada has announced the names of the Dodge Caravan Kids English and French minor hockey teams who have won the top five cash prizes in this year’s Dodge Caravan Kids photo contest.

Photographs were submitted by more than 2,000 teams from throughout Canada who participated in the 2013-2014 Dodge Caravan Kids Program.

Founded in 2006, the Dodge Caravan Kids program is a joint effort between participating amateur hockey organizations across the country in partnership with Chrysler Canada and Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram retailers. The program aims to keep the cost of playing hockey down for families, by providing sponsorship funding to novice house league teams. Since the program started, Dodge has invested more than $5 million in program funding and has extended its reach to well over 150,000 kids who have worn either a “Dodge Caravan Kids” or “Recrues Dodge” jersey.

For the 2013-2014 season, there were 30,020 children participating in the Dodge Caravan Kids/Les Recrues Dodge team sponsorship program throughout Canada.

“Our sincere congratulations to the 2013-2014 winners of the Dodge Caravan Kids Photo Contest,” said Ed Broadbear, Vice-President of Marketing, Chrysler Canada. “Hockey is woven into the landscape of Canada, just like the Dodge Grand Caravan is woven into the driveways of millions of families around the world. We are thrilled to be able to help so many kids further enjoy the sport of hockey by making it more affordable to Canadian families.”

The Dodge Caravan Kids photo contest encouraged teams to take a fun photo incorporating a Dodge Grand Caravan, their local Dodge dealership or a fun way to say thank you to Dodge.

$3,000 in cash prizes was awarded to the teams, based on their rankings. These additional funds are often used by the teams to support an end of year banquet, replace equipment, purchase additional ice time, or pay for tournament registration costs.
