Danny “The Count” Koker gained fame from his recurring roles on the hit TV reality shows, Pawn Stars and American Restoration. He stars in his own series called Counting Cars on The History Channel. The self-taught mechanic has turned his love of choppers and classic American muscle cars into a successful business called Count’s Kustoms, a custom auto repair shop in Las Vegas where he restores, customizes, and flips vehicles. His own garage is filled to the brink with 58 vehicles including a 1932 Ford Roadster, a 1966 Shelby G.T.350, and a 1999 Shelby Series 1 — plus several motorcycles. Born in Detroit, his love of home grown cars started as a kid. The 47-year-old currently lives in Las Vegas.
I’m definitely not afraid to enjoy a car. I like speed. I like to go fast.
“I’m not a member of the 200 mph (320 km/h) club yet. But I am a member of the 180 mph (288 km/h) club and that was on a public road. I don’t recommend that. Personally, that was a good achievement for me. Kids, don’t do that at home!”
“Detroit is a big part of my soul. I’m proud of Ford Motor Company for not taking any bailout money. I’m proud of General Motors for paying back their bailout money. I love Chrysler’s advertising campaign, Imported from Detroit. I’m really proud of these companies and how they’re trying to breathe life back into that great city. I pray for that city. I really hope that city gets big and strong someday,” says the Detroit-born entrepreneur and TV host.
