Montreal auto show sees 14% increase in attendance

February 2, 2024

The 79th edition of the Montreal International Auto Show has come and gone, with data showing a 14 per cent increase in attendance as 168,447 people purchased tickets.

The show took place between Jan. 19-28 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. Some of the organizers, such as the event’s Executive Director Luis Pereira, believe the return of several automotive manufacturers are among the elements that helped boost overall attendance.

“The public turned out in force this year,” he said in a statement. “The return of major manufacturers who were absent last year, the diversity of the offer and a three-floor show convinced the general public to visit us. With such encouraging figures, we hope to persuade even more major brands to return to the show next year.

The event was presented by iA Financial Group and produced by the Montreal Automobile Dealers Corporation (MADC). A Charity Preview Gala was also presented by the MIAS on Jan. 18, 2024, at the Palais des congrès. That event concluded with a total of $572,800 donated to five hospital foundations in the Greater Montreal area.
