Volvo Cars suffers cyber attack, some R&D files stolen

Volvo Cars experienced a cyber security breach by a third party after one of its file repositories was illegally accessed, according to the OEM. “Investigations so far confirm that a limited amount of the company’s R&D property has been stolen during the intrusion. Volvo Cars has earlier today concluded, based on information available, that there may be an impact on the company’s operation,” the company said in a December 10 news release.
