Australia’s Victoria government to impose EV levy

Australia’s government in Victoria announced that it would implement an electric vehicle tax — a per/km EV levy — from 2021 onwards. The Australian Automobile Association (AAA) has since called for a “nationally consistent road user charge for electric vehicles.” A spokesperson for the organization said revenue from fuel excise is declining and that can risk road funding.
