Vehicle research among users on Kijiji Autos is on the rise despite the impact of COVID-19, according to the company’s Monthly Trend Report for April.
Online engagement on the platform has been increasing overall, and in Quebec in particular, there has been an overall increase in interest from consumers to shop for a vehicle. Data from the report indicates that there is an increase in views per listing of 4 per cent year-over-year in the province. Views per listing are up 16 per cent nationally, YOY.
There is also an increase in the average vehicle value of 6.7 per cent for new vehicles, and 13 per cent for used vehicles in Quebec. Nationally, that number is up 6.2 per cent for both new and used in Canada. All YOY.
In Ontario, there is a 27 per cent increase in views per listing YOY, while the average new vehicle price is up 7.3 per cent and 1.8 per cent for used vehicles, YOY in April.
In terms of overall engagement on Kijiji Autos from users in April, nationally, the company has garnered 78 million VDP views, 47,000 calls, and 891,000 email/chat replies.
Furthermore, there have been 172,000 dealership URL clicks, 519,000 total live listings, and 150 average views per listing.
The most popular brands nationally are Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Honda and Toyota.
And the top most popular models are the Ford F-150, Honda Civic, Ford Mustang, BMW 3 Series, and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
