Kathy Ward retires from CBB

After more than three decades as the face of Canadian Black Book, Kathy Ward is retiring from the organization, announced company President Brad Rome.

Bill Ward, Kathy’s father, brought Black Book to Canada in 1961, and Kathy became involved with the vehicle valuation provider at an early age, working in admin and various sales roles.

In 2006, Kathy took the reigns as President and CEO of the company. Since then, she has seen the company through various transformations, including the release of its data to consumers online. In 2015, Kathy negotiated the sale of the company to a new parent company, Hearst Business Media in the U.S.

“Kathy has the ability to find common ground in an instant,” said Rome. “The relationships and leadership skills she brought to the table put this company in a position to continue to succeed.”

“As Kathy steps away from day-to-day operations, I know she is comforted by the fact that she is leaving Canadian Black Book in very capable hands with an energized management team and a thriving business that is well prepared for the future. Our sincere thanks go out to Kathy for her many years of exceptional leadership and to the Ward family for a partnership that has spanned over 55 years”, said Tom Cross, Executive Vice-President at Hearst Business Media, in a written release.
