After 36 years of operation in Victoria, B.C., Saunders Subaru owners Bob and Norma Saunders announced they have sold their dealership to The Jim Pattison Auto Group.
It’s the largest Subaru retailer in Canada, and the addition of the Saunders Subaru store will make it the group’s fifth Subaru location in western Canada, said the company.
“We’d like to thank the Saunders family for building such a strong reputation in Victoria and in the Capital region overall,” said Pattison, in a written release. “Our team will continue their legacy of business excellence, strong values and community support.”
The group has confirmed that the existing staff with remain at the Saunders Subaru dealership. Daughters Edie and Ruth — who serves on the Subaru National Advisory Board in Canada — and son David Saunders will help assist with the transition over the next few months.
The Saunders family added it plans to continue supporting the local community through the Saunders Family Foundation.
