Craig Dunn Motor City has been named the winner of the 2015 Driven to Perform contest, recognized as TRADER’s top performing dealer in Canada. The Portage LaPrairie, Man.-based dealership, located 100 kilometres outside of Winnipeg, was selected based on its ability to meet a self-defined inventory management strategy using the vAuto solution.

“I was surprised by the results [of vAuto], it’s absolutely the only reason I can remain competitive outside of major metro [Winnipeg], especially in today’s economy where there may be less consumer demand,” said Tyler Dunn, Sales Manager of Craig Dunn Motor City, in a written release.

Dunn said that prior to using vAuto, his dealership was paying a premium to attract customers outside of their local market.

The goal was to decrease average days in inventory and increase turn rates, achieved by sourcing the right vehicles for the market with the right price — even though it meant pricing inventory lower than the market average, said Dunn.

“Since using vAuto, we’ve improved our volume and gross per unit every year, the sales guys are happy, the customers are happy, and we continue to sell more cars,” Dunn added.

“When we compared their performance prior to using vAuto to where they are today, it’s really quite impressive to see the growth transition and efficiencies the product has created,” said Robert Rath, Vice-President of Business Development at TRADER.

TRADER said it has launched it’s second Driven to Perform Contest, and is inviting qualified dealerships to participate. The winning dealership will receive their current vAuto subscription free for 2017, said the company. To learn more and to enter, click here.
