Recently, Georgian College and ADP Dealer Services Inc. announced a new five-year strategic partnership. As a result, students enrolled at the College’s Automotive Business School of Canada will gain hands-on experience in dealership management.

The College has selected ADP’s dealership management software to support students in its Automotive Business two-year diploma and Bachelor of Business — Automotive Management four-year degree programs, with the equipment and software provided on Georgian’s Barrie, Ont. campus at the newly named ADP laboratory.

Present at the signing were Dean Anton, vice-president and general manager of ADP Canada, Dealer Services and MaryLynn West-Moyes president and CEO, Georgian College.

“ADP is very pleased to provide Georgian College’s Automotive Business School of Canada with the latest in automotive retail management systems for the use of students and faculty. The responsibility to give back to the future employees and employers of the automotive industry is something ADP sees as very important,” said Anton.

Rob Scott, a student in the Bachelor of Business — Automotive Management degree program said learning on systems like that offered by ADP will provide both himself and his peers with a significant advantage when it comes time to enter the workplace full-time. “Learning dealer management software in the classroom allows students to become significantly more employable in this increasingly digital industry,” said Scott. “I was able to use the software first-hand in the dealership on one of my co-op placements.”

Monique Vaillancourt, associate Dean of the Automotive Business School of Canada and the School of Business at Georgian College said, “we are pleased to build on our relationship with an industry leader like ADP. We are grateful for this generous donation and we strongly value ADP’s confidence in our academic programs and our students.”
