The Knight Automotive Group has another link in its chain with the addition of the Knight Nissan dealership in Swift Current, Sask. It joins the group’s Knight Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealership already in the city.
Saskatchewan’s continued economic growth is behind the expansion, says the auto group’s founder and chairman Ted Knight, who also sits as a director on a local credit union. “The amount of new investment coming into Saskatchewan,” he says, “is phenomenal.” The economic boom in industry plus the continued growth in housing and new arrivals to the province have increased demand for vehicles.
“And, this was a good opportunity to add to our product line-up in terms of non-domestic product.”
Knight says that the Nissan trucks and sport utility vehicles are proving popular and “dovetail” with the local market which includes a lot of ranching, farming, and oil and industrial clientele.
It’s not the first Nissan dealership that the group has added in the province, with Western Nissan in Moose Jaw, where Knight says the reception to the Nissan products has been good. Other Knight Automotive Group holdings in Moose Jaw include Western Dodge, Western Honda, and Western Hyundai.
The group also has dealerships Jackson Dodge and Sun Valley Honda in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Crestview Chrysler in Regina, Saskatchewan, and Knight Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Victoria, B.C.
Knight says the addition of Nissan in Swift Current will be a complement to the Knight Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealership in the city and provide consumers with greater choice.
