Go Auto has acquired Lone Star Mercedes-Benz in Calgary, rebranding the store as Mercedes-Benz South Calgary, according to a company announcement.

The deal marks the dealer group’s first Mercedes-Benz dealership in Canada, complementing an existing Mercedes-Benz location in the United States. The acquisition also expands Go Auto’s presence in Calgary to seven dealerships and brings its total count to 73 stores across North America.

“The acquisition of Lone Star Mercedes-Benz reflects our continued investment in acquiring best-in-class dealerships and expanding our footprint in key markets,” said Phil Abram, President of Go Auto, in a statement. “We’re thrilled to welcome our new customers and look forward to supporting the team in their continued success as we grow together.”

Go Auto said it now represents 32 automotive brands across its network. The company continues to focus on growth through acquisitions in key markets, particularly in the luxury segment.

The Calgary expansion points to the group’s strategy of building scale in major urban centres while diversifying its brand mix. It also underlines consolidation in the Canadian retail landscape, especially in the luxury segment.
