PBS Systems has acquired Dealer Image Pro, a U.S.-based inventory merchandising software provider, the company announced April 2.
Dealer Image Pro, headquartered in Sacramento, Calif., develops tools that help dealerships photograph, edit and publish vehicle listings more quickly, using a mix of automation and human quality control.
The Calgary-based dealership management system (DMS) provider said the acquisition brings together two complementary areas of dealership operations — core management software and digital merchandising tools — with the goal of improving efficiency and performance.
“Dealer Image Pro has a strong reputation for helping dealerships elevate how they merchandise and present inventory online,” said Dave Bradley, President of PBS Systems, in a statement. “Together, we’ll deliver high-impact solutions that let dealerships perform at their best.”
PBS said the combination will allow dealers to streamline how inventory is prepared and presented online, an increasingly critical part of the retail process.
Dealer Image Pro will continue operating under CEO Peter Duffy, with its Sacramento headquarters unchanged.
“This is an exciting step for our team and our customers,” said Duffy in a statement. “We’ll continue doing what we do best, while expanding what’s possible through the strength and scale of PBS Systems.”
PBS Systems, founded in 1988, provides dealership management software covering accounting, sales, service and parts operations for more than 3,500 dealerships across North America and the Caribbean.
Dealer Image Pro’s tools include photo capture, image editing, video and 360-degree imaging for vehicle listings.
