The Finch Auto Group recently donated $1,150,000 to a range of local causes, charities, and non-profit organizations in Middlesex-London, Ont., through its community campaign.
In September 2020, the group launched the “Finch Match my Donation” campaign and pledged to match up to $50,000 in donations to local causes every month, for four months. The goal was to reach up to $200,000 donations.
“We wanted to support our community in a way that was different from our typical efforts,” said Ryan Finch, President of Finch Auto Group. “This campaign is unique because we asked Londoners what local causes were important to them and the response was overwhelming.”
The group received nearly 2,000 individual donations to be matched in four months, which totalled slightly more than $850,000.
“London stepped up in a huge way and donated far more than we ever thought possible,” said Finch. “That inspired us to dig deeper and match an additional $100,000 dollars in donations, bringing the grand total to $1,150,000.”
One charity, Growing Chefs, was able to recoup some of its much-needed funds that were lost due to the closure of its headquarters. Overall, the donations have helped many charities and non-profit organizations that have been struggling and are facing an uncertain future due to the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.
