CARFAX Canada launches free “Car Care” service

CARFAX Canada has launched a free service to make it easier for consumers to take care of their vehicles, by removing the hassle of keeping track of service records and staying on top of car maintenance schedules.

Known as CARFAX Canada Car Care, the service is available to Canadians who sign up for it with an email address and their license plates or VINs.

“We’re proud to launch Car Care as it helps Canadians keep their vehicles in top condition which we know is not always an easy task,” said Mark Rousseau, President and GM at CARFAX Canada, adding “Car Care makes this task simple with convenient reminders, a search function for trusted shops and digital record keeping all in one place.”

In a news release, the company said one in five vehicles have an open recall, and that their research indicates that Canadians want an easy way to know if their vehicle has been impacted. The service provides a number of functions, including automatic recall alerts.

Other benefits include reminders and alerts about upcoming service recommendations, a search feature to find participating service shops in the area (with listings including local ratings and reviews), and access to historical maintenance services conducted at participating shops by previous owners.

CARFAX Canada also included the ability to automatically track and store services that were completed by participating shops. “These records are valuable when it comes time to sell the vehicle, helping to prove that it’s in great shape,” said the company.
