Voluntary CO2 emissions standards have been introduced by the Australian automotive industry in an effort to catch up to global standards. Beginning in 2021 the industry will evaluate CO2 emissions targets of every automotive brand in Australia, publishing an annual report card for consumers. Electric vehicles, which are considered zero emission vehicles, will not be included.
