Mercedes-Benz breaks ground on Toronto dealership

Members of Mercedes-Benz Canada’s leadership recently broke ground at the company’s first new concept dealership in Toronto, Ont., where a 95,900-square-foot facility will be built on the 6-acre site.

Mercedes-Benz Canada’s President & CEO Brian D. Fulton was among the OEM members that attended the ceremony in Etobicoke, the western part of Toronto where the facility will be located, and was joined by Ward 3 Etobicoke-Lakeshore Councillor Mark Grimes.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to be marking the start of construction for the new Mercedes-Benz Etobicoke dealership,” said Fulton. “This outstanding addition to our Toronto Retail Group is sure to set the bar for dealership design as well as service. We’re thrilled to be expanding our footprint at this location and can’t wait to welcome in new and existing customers for a truly first class brand experience.”

In a news release, the automaker said the design of the new facility is based on its MAR2020 design standards, representing a significant shift in the OEM’s global retail approach.

The facility will include three showrooms with a brand-specific look and feel that includes spaces inspired by galleries and meant to highlight the the Mercedes-Benz product lineup. The facility will also include 37 service bays and at least 22 electric vehicle charging stations, with a host of level-2 chargers and a couple of level-3 chargers planned.
