Canadian Black Book and J.D. Power hosted their seventh annual TalkAUTO Canada Conference on November 7.
The event, which attracted more than 450 people from the automotive industry, financial sector and media, to the Universal Eventspace in Vaughan, Ont., continues to provide dealers with important insights about the auto sector.
“There is a lot of change going on, which is the theme of TalkAUTO, and we need to come together to these kind of events to share ideas and hear what we all have to say, which can help us to better position all of our businesses for the future,” said Brad Rome, President of Canadian Black Book.
The theme of this year’s conference was “Who Moved My Keys? Adapting to Change in a New Marketplace’”, which has been described by CBB as a play on the popular fable “Who Moved My Cheese”. The topic aims to fit with the “unrelenting change” that is occurring in auto industry.
“We think the automotive industry is due for change and that disruption is coming for the automotive business, which is why we are spending our time at TalkAUTO discussing how we can best adapt, and ultimately thrive,” said JD Ney, Automotive Practice Leader, Canada, J.D. Power.
The conference was headlined by Sheryl Connelly, manager of Global Consumer Trends and Futuring, Ford Motor Company, who provided insights about shifting global priorities, political upheaval at home and abroad, and social inequity.
Other speakers included: Jeff Schuster, President of Americas Operations and Global Vehicle Forecasts, LMC Automotive; Chris Hodges, VP of Customer Experience and Digital Solutions, J.D. Power; and Brian Murphy, VP, Research & Editorial, Canadian Black Book.
