Toronto, Ont-based Zanchin Automotive Group has announced two key executive management changes within the organization.

Nello Basso
The first change is the appointment of Nello Basso as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing a leadership team that manages 27 dealerships within the Zanchin Automotive Group and its more than 800 employees.
“Nello is a dynamic and experienced automotive executive who has become my most trusted advisor within the organization,” said Joe Zanchin, President and Chief Executive Officer, Zanchin Automotive Group. “I am extremely pleased to appoint Nello and have the confidence he will keep a steady hand while enabling the organization to accelerate our long-term plans for growth.”
Basso originally joined the organization in 1998 and holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and a BA in Finance from York University. Previously he served as Executive Vice-President and CFO at the Zanchin Automotive Group.

Edward Wong
The other major change sees Edward (Eddy) Wong promoted to Executive Vice-President of Retail Operations, reporting to Nello Basso. In this new and elevated role, Mr. Wong will take on increased visibility within the organization, strategically supporting the company and its vision for long-term growth.
“Since joining us in 1992, our collection of Nissan and Infiniti dealerships have grown to what it is today under his capable abilities and management,” said Joe Zanchin. “As a key member of our Executive Management team, Eddy’s increased role within the organization will allow us to play a pivotal role in the analysis of potential growth opportunities and strategic business ventures.”
Zanchin also noted that “I am very pleased with the growth of our dealer group and believe that by appointing my successors, this organization will continue to evolve and grow as it has over the past 40 years. I look forward to continuing to provide vision and leadership to my team as we continue in our quest to offer the best retail customer experience in Canada.”
