groundbreaking ceremony on June 7.

During the event, a scale model of Porsche Centre Oakville was on display. Once completed the actual facility will encompass almost 5,000 square metres.
Currently, porsche has 14 retail centres located in Canada. That’s set to expand with the opening of Porsche Centre Oakville, the groundbreaking ceremony for which was held in early June.
To be located at 2250 South Service Road, adjacent to the QEW between Third Line and Bronte Road, the new facility will be a state-of-the-art dealership, consisting of a 22-car showroom, indoor parking for 18 vehicles, a Porsche After Sales Service Centre; a Porsche Club Lounge with on site gourmet restaurant, Porsche Driver’s Selection Boutique, kids play area; GT3 Cup driving simulator, plus an indoor after sales reception area.
Porsche Centre Oakville, besides being the 15th location for the brand in the country, is also the latest addition to the Policaro Automotive Family, which currently operates eight stores servicing seven different automobile brands within the Greater Toronto Area.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Francesco Policaro, General Manager for Porsche Centre Oakville, along with Joe Lawrence, President and CEO Porsche Cars Canada, Mayor of the Town of Oakville Rob Burton, and Robert Arnone, CEO of R.H. Carter Architects, the firm responsible for the design and construction of the new facility.
“We have designed this Porsche Centre to embody the characteristics of the brand and company respectively,” said Francesco Policaro. “In every detail we are looking to provide a fascinating experience; from the facility to the interaction with the customer.”
Mayor Burton added that as “Canada’s second largest town” and “one of the most prosperous areas of the country” Oakville represents an “ideal location for Porsche’s next retail centre. We look forward to the new facility and its associates as they become an integral part of the local community.”
Joe Lawrence said “we are thrilled to be breaking ground, officially bringing the Porsche Brand to Oakville. This is a competitive landscape and the Policaro Family is committed to bringing a superior level of service and attention to detail to Porsche owners in this market.”
Porsche Centre Oakville is scheduled to open in 2013.
