It had to happen sooner or later. Mopar; Chrysler’s parts and accessories division recently announced that it will be introducing a wireless charging device for powering up your smart phone or other hand held device inside your vehicle.
Designed to be mounted in the vehicle’s centre console area; it incorporates a charging grid that allows a smart phone or other portable device to be mounted on top of it. A special case with adapter pins is fitted around the device, enabling it to be charged.
Produced for Mopar by Michigan based Jvis, the device, which will initially be available for the 2013 Dodge Dart, is projected to go on sale in the U.S. this summer and will retail for $199.99. The price includes the case but not installation, which will be handled at the dealer level. Expect further model applications and Canadian availability to follow shortly thereafter.
