Toyota Canada Partners with Canadian Red Cross to Strengthen Domestic Response Capacity Through “Time to Act” (CNW Group/Toyota Canada Inc.)
Toyota Canada is teaming up with the Canadian Red Cross to strengthen the humanitarian organization’s capacity for disaster preparedness, response and recovery through its “Time to Act” initiative.
The OEM is contributing $100,000 to support the Canadian Red Cross’ initiative, which provides the resources needed to ensure the organization is ready to meet community needs. It goes towards things like training volunteers, pre-positioning supplies, and deploying mobile clinics, as well as supporting long-term community recovery.
“Through this contribution, Toyota Canada is reinforcing our commitment to being there when Canadians need us most,” said Leslie Miller, COO and CFO of Toyota Canada, in a statement. “We’re proud to deepen our work with the Canadian Red Cross, ensuring support not only in times of disaster, but in preparing communities for the challenges ahead.”
The Canadian Red Cross is a member of the world’s largest humanitarian network, assists individuals and communities in Canada and internationally during emergencies and works to strengthen their ability to recover and adapt. Amy Avis, Chief of Operations at the Canadian Red Cross said the organization is grateful to Toyota Canada for its support.
“We are seeing a rise in the number and complexity of events across the country, and the Canadian Red Cross is committed to helping people prepare for, respond to and recover from adverse events,” she said in a statement.
