Universus launches unit to help businesses boost brand experiences

Universus Media has launched a new division to help businesses boost their storytelling and brand experiences through public relations and experiential marketing. 

The company is adding these elements to its suite of services, which already include branding, video production, digital marketing, and social media work. Together, its offerings aim to help businesses maximize brand impact at every touchpoint.

“PR and experiential marketing naturally aligns with our current offerings,” said Niel Hiscox, President at Universus Media Group, in a statement. “Clients have been increasingly asking for support in these areas, so we knew we needed to take a serious look at it.”

The company plans to enhance PR strategies with research-backed insights, through its subsidiary Clarify Group, so that clients can make informed decisions around their messaging and tactics. Hiscox said the company also added new team members to build out the business unit and ensure Universus Media could deliver “at a very high level.” 

Dustin Woods, Director of PR & Experiential, joined the team after nearly 20 years working as a journalist and in public relations — predominantly in the areas of automotive, tourism and travel, motorcycles and powersports. And Sammy Davis, Coordinator of PR & Experiential, has hands-on experience in social media strategy and event management — including leading Volvo’s re-entry into the Canadian International AutoShow last year.

“Increasingly, a core deliverable for many PR campaigns are in-person events designed to reinforce a brand’s messages and market position,” said Hiscox. “We believe that fusing PR and Experiential, backed by the in-house capability of a full-service agency like Universus that can develop and deliver any needed marketing and campaign elements, is a winning and cost-saving formula for clients.”
