The rise in auto theft over the past couple of years (a situation that has since improved) has paved the way for businesses to launch new products for consumers. Lorex Technology is one example of this, having recently launched its Stop Before it Happens initiative meant to help combat car theft.
In a news release, it said the initiative includes the company’s newly released Smart Security Lighting and Lorex Guarantee Program, which gives consumers money back if the system fails to prevent a car theft. Aiming to deter such crimes, Lorex said its SSL products feature a vibrant and customizable LED band that is visible from a distance and can shine 24/7.
The company aims to “proactively help consumers prevent car theft with its new advanced crime deterrence features,” said Lorex in its update. The company’s Lorex Guarantee Program offers users with eligible products “$100 if a car theft occurs and the security camera fails to stop it, helping to ease the financial loss related to the incident.”
Its products appear suited to buildings or areas overseeing a parking spot or lot. The initiative also includes additional deterrence tools such as Artificial Intelligence detection, motion-activated warning lights, a remotely triggered siren, and communication features like 2-Way Talk and pre-recorded Quick Response messages. Furthermore, Lorex said its cameras work proactively to prevent crime.
