Stelco plans to recycle end-of-life EV batteries in Ontario

Stelco, a Canadian steel company, plans to recycle end-of-life lithium-ion and electric vehicle batteries in Ontario, according to Driving.ca. The company plans to do this at its facility in Nanticoke using technology from a joint venture with German and Australian metal companies. “Stelco said it plans to become a leading lithium-ion battery recycler in North America and could build additional processing plants across North America.” It is aiming to start initial operations in 2023.
