GM to build mobile EV generators with Hydrotec fuel cells

General Motors plans to build generators that use hydrogen-powered (Hydrotec) fuel cells that offer mobile sources of electricity and act as temporary EV chargers, according to Driving.ca. “Hydrotec power generators can quickly be deployed for disaster relief, or it can provide backup for the electrical grid in areas that are experiencing rolling blackouts,” said Charlie Freese, Executive Director of GM’s Hydrotec division.
