AutoTrader.ca to reveals 2022 award finalists

AutoTrader.ca announced the finalists of its 2022 awards on October 18, recognizing vehicles for value, innovation, performance, comfort, technology, and desirability.

While key categories were developed and voted on by Canadian automotive experts, the Canadian public (from across the country) will be able to weigh in on the AutoTrader.ca Canada’s Choice Awards. Voting begins on October 18 and closes on October 31, with the winners announced in November.

“The finalists for 2022 are strong contenders who represent the pinnacle of automotive excellence,” said Jodi Lai, Editor-in-Chief of AutoTrader.ca. “Our goal is to ensure consumers are aware of the top vehicles available to them on the marketplace, so they can confidently make an informed decision while shopping.”

Lai said this year will be “extra special,” since Canadians will be able to cast their vote and enter the chance to win a cash prize of $10,000.

This year will also include three new categories: New Tech Innovation, New Safety Technology, and Best Vehicle for Adventure—with the awards recognizing vehicles from 30 different categories.

More than 20 expert auto journalists reviewed over 300 vehicles before voting in each category. Finalists were evaluated against 12 specific criteria, including: overall excellence, value, innovation, technology and features, user-friendliness, performance, engineering excellence, driver satisfaction, design, safety, quality, and efficiency—weighted according to segment, according to Autotrader.ca.
