Hyundai Motor Group, including Kia, is expanding its strategic partnership with Nvidia to accelerate the development of next-generation autonomous driving and AI-powered mobility, according to a company news release.
The collaboration will centre on Nvidia’s accelerated computing and AI platforms, which Hyundai plans to use to develop advanced driver-assistance systems and future autonomous driving capabilities. The companies will also work together on simulation technologies to train and validate AI models in virtual environments before real-world deployment.
Hyundai Motor Group said the partnership will support its transition toward software-defined vehicles, enabling more advanced in-vehicle systems and continuous updates over time. The initiative is also expected to extend into manufacturing, where AI-driven tools and digital environments will be used to improve efficiency and streamline production processes.
Nvidia’s technology will play a key role in handling the large-scale data processing required for autonomous driving development, while also supporting robotics and broader mobility applications within Hyundai’s ecosystem.
Executives from both companies emphasized the importance of AI in shaping the future of mobility, highlighting the role of high-performance computing in building safer, more intelligent vehicles. The shift toward software-defined vehicles has the potential to create new service and revenue opportunities tied to updates and subscriptions.
