German startup Vay is eyeing a self-driving workaround of “human teledrivers” that would be an interim measure to full autonomy. “Vay’s service will operate like a sort of humanless Uber and also a sort of car-rental service,” said Car and Driver. “Users will request a Vay ride, Uber style, and the remote-controlled car will arrive at their location.
