Mercedes to go all-electric by 2025

Daimler has announced that from 2025, all of Mercedes-Benz’ “newly launched vehicle architectures will be electric-only.” As part of the announcement, the company said it would increase its spend on research and development with total investments into battery electric vehicles amounting to over 40 billion euros between 2022 and 2030. The company also announced that alongside its global partners, Mercedes “will also look to establish eight gigafactories to manufacture the cells it needs for its vehicles.” (Source: CNBC).
