Chevy Bolts recalled due to battery cell defects

Chevrolet has announced a second recall affecting 2017-2019 Bolts after two more fires were reported. This new recall includes Bolt owners whose vehicles were part of the first recall. The OEM has found the simultaneous presence of two rare manufacturing defects that are located in the battery cell and are believed to be linked to the battery fires that have been reported. As part of the recall, Chevrolet will replace the defective battery modules. In the meantime, the company is advising all customers of the recalled models to follow a number of safety protocols including parking vehicles outside after each charging session.
