General Motors idled the production of its Chevrolet Equinox crossover due to a shortage of semiconductor chips. According to Driving.ca, GM’s Ingersoll facility in Ontario, also known as CAMI Assembly, currently builds the Equinox “and is touted by General Motors as being recognized as one of the most efficient assembly plants in North America.” The plant is expected to be down for nearly two months.
