Kia is doing away with its traditional corporate logo in favour of a new one that it says features “symmetry,” “rhythm,” and “rising” elements that reflect the automaker’s confidence and commitment to its customers.
In a news release, the OEM said the logo is a symbol of its new brand purpose and the values it will offer customers through future products and services, in addition to the experiences they expect will stem from these products.
“Kia’s new logo represents the company’s commitment to becoming an icon for change and innovation,” said Ho Sung Song, Kia’s President and CEO. “The automotive industry is experiencing a period of rapid transformation, and Kia is proactively shaping and adapting to these changes.”
He said the new logo represents the company’s desire to “inspire customers as their mobility needs evolve, and for our employees to rise to the challenges we face in a fast-changing industry.”
The logo was unveiled during an outdoor pyrotechnic display above Incheon, Korea, when 303 pyrodrones launched hundreds of fireworks in a synchronized display. It also revealed a new global brand slogan: “Movement that inspires.”
The automaker plans to offer more information during its digital “New Kia Brand Showcase” event on January 15 (Korean Standard Time) via its Kia Global YouTube channel.
