Hands-free driving could put lives at risk

Thatcham Research has reacted to a U.K. government proposal to allow hands- and eyes-off driving as of 2021 with automated lane-keeping systems. According to Thatcham’s director of research, Matthew Avery, the government’s plan threatens road safety. “Proper automation is what we want. This is not proper automation.
