Honda, GM seeking alliance to share car platforms

General Motors and Honda are considering an alliance on development and supply-chain costs that would build on the OEMs’ collaboration on electric vehicles and technologies. In a joint press release, the automakers said “they have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to form a North American auto alliance,” said Green Car Reports. If adopted, the partnership would result in certain vehicles sold under each company’s distinct brands, and cooperation in purchasing, research and development, and connected services.
