A deal has been struck between European Union countries and lawmakers that will enable the countries to team-up and sue companies for defective products, according to Reuters. Furthermore, there are “built-in safeguards to guard against the excesses of U.S. class action lawsuits.” The lawsuits may cover areas such as data protection, financial services, travel and tourism, energy, telecommunications, environment and health, and more.
