Webasto to display EV charging program at CES

Webasto, an automotive and aftermarket equipment manufacturer, has announced its plans to unveil a full service electric vehicle charging program at the 2018 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the company said in a news release.

The group will be offering customizable charging solutions that are meant to meet OEM vehicle-specific requirements — an offer that also includes a professional, nationwide installation and service network.

“OEMs want partners who understand and quickly adapt to their development cycles, specifications and evolving engineering needs,” said Fabian Bez, who is globally responsible for the business unit Thermo & Comfort. “As a technology leader for thermal systems, it is our goal to become the leading system supplier of charging solutions for electric vehicles.”

The company will be showcasing its wall-mount Level-2 charging technology products between January 9 to 12. The charging stations are designed for North America, Europe and Chinese markets and are compatible with plug-in hybrid and battery EVs. They are meant for home, business and multi-unit dwelling applications, according to the news release.
